The Tamil Veshti Dhoti

Veshti

Veshti (dhoti) is a term for a white unstitched cloth wrap for the lower body in Tamil Nadu. Veshti is a part of the traditional attire consisting of Kurta and Angvastra. The garment is a single piece of cloth and similar to dhoti, one of the earliest draped garments of India.

The Kannada Kache Panche Dhoti

In karnataka, it is known as the kachche panche. In kerala, the dhoti is called mundu.

the dhoti and Kurta. The principal Traditional Dress of the men in Karnataka is 'Panche' which is worn underneath the waistline accompanied by a shirt on top. It is otherwise called Lungi, Dhoti or Veshti and so forth.

The Telugu Pancha Dhoti

“Telugu Panchekattu” is different from the malayaali “Mundu”. Many people assume that “mundu” is a Telugu traditional attire of men. But it is not, even from my grand fathers and fathers era, the Telugu men traditional attire is “panche” or “Dhothi vasthram”. Again, it’s not “lungi”. The way of draping the cloth is different.

The Bengali Kochano or Pleated Dhoti

The Bengali ‘Dhuti’ is a type of Dhoti worn by men in the Bengal region of India. Although similar to the regular dhoti, it has a circular pleated part towards the left side

The Maharashtrian Dhotar

Men wear dhoti with a shirt known as the pheta in Maharashtra. They also wear headdresses, which is a folded cap made of cotton, silk or woolen cloth.

Rajasthani Dulangi Dhoti

The Dulangi dhoti comes from the culture-rich state of Maharajas. Rajasthan is a place that has heritage places and things and this dhoti is one such cultural attire that people wear for a very long time. Although the traditional dhoti is really comfortable but really hard to wear.

The Punjabi Chadra

One of the most common types of a dhoti for men in the Punjab region, the Chadra looks very much similar to the Lungi. The Punjabi Chadra is very easy to wear and it is very comfortable. Usually, you will see the elderly or the people from villages wearing such dhoti.
